#adventurebuddies Wedding (David + Emily Payne) | #FeatureFriday2018

L>R: Me, Ash, Emily + David, Dad, Mom
Let me start by saying that I couldn't be happier for my dear American brother, David, and his new (kind and lovely) wife, Emily! The #adventurebuddies wedding has been a LOOOOOONG time coming and there was NO WAY we were missing it. Also, some of these photos are from other sources and I'll be continuing to update this post with more photos as they're trickling in via social media. Keeping a "mini album" of the wedding here ;)

Wedding Ceremony

the walls of the Artisan Center where they had the ceremony
I think this was from their rehearsal dinner the night before? Gorgeous ambiance.

tables in the "back" half of the Artisan Center, parted in the middle to create an "aisle"
D+E used the same location for both ceremony and reception, just needed to "flip" the place after
this was great to see b/c 1) smart and cost-efficient and 2) my own parents did this at their wedding too!

the bridal party's almost all there! last but not least, the best man and maid of honor!

waiting on the bride...

the cutest flower girls ever! I loved the idea of having them happily skip down the aisle. <3

here comes the bride! and isn't she just GORGEOUS?!

Wedding Reception

One of the best things about weddings involving people who are LONG TIME Calvary members is that it's like a reunion at the wedding. Our dear, recently married friends (#finallymonroes wedding), Ralph and Christa Monroe were there (Ralph was a groomsman) with their baby boy, Tobias! First time seeing him in person and he was so precious. I'm still not good with children though, so I didn't hold him, but was more than happy to help my very excited mum take pictures with him.

Mum with Tobias. Just look at those eyes!

table 23! wedding tip: you never know the order they release tables to get food. pick a table in the middle, and you're guaranteed a decent wait time!
we had a table of friends that took Table 1, expecting to be released first, and were horrified when the emcee said "and the first shall be last" (Bible reference). XD Lessons learned, everyone!

appetizers. the tea was actually really good! I was pleasantly surprised!

cue the bridal party!

beef, chicken, Asiago potatoes, corn, greek salad with feta (be still my cheese loving heart), and roll + butter
I ate VERY well at this reception. Thank you D+E for getting an awesome caterer!!

the first dance. very impressive, and having danced with David before (swing + line), I'm not the least bit surprised at how good they looked :)

snagged a quick pic with Olivia (sister of the bride + bridesmaid) who had helped me greatly with the bridal shower decorations for D+E back in C'dale!

Overall, had a GREAT TIME. Dearest David and Emily, I wish you both the best and I hope
you have a fabulous time on your honeymoon!! :D

Next #MusicMonday2018, I will be sharing about a movie + soundtrack that have absolutely captured my heart and have been on constant repeat through the past month or so. It's LITERALLY the greatest show. ;) (did you see what I did there? :P)

  1. Cool wedding ceremony! I must say the arrangements are attractive in their own way. Guests are having a great time at wedding venues booked by the planner. Food and drinks are served in a pleasing manner. Will take some tips to arrange a baby shower for my sister in few days. Inviting all our dear ones through DIY cards would be a great idea.

    1. One thing that's fun about weddings is that the bride's personality really shines through in lots of the choices. I don't believe D+E had an actual "planner", it was more or less executed by family members.
